Crate Escape at Terry Peak

Loved this place and we will stay here again when visiting the area. The house layout is perfect. Enjoyed watching the mule deer.

Had a short stay for snowboarding at Terry Peak but the place was beautiful. Amazing location, gorgeous views, and a beautiful home. Beds were super comfy, felt very homey, amazing kitchen and amenities. Would absolutely book again. Great location for going to Terry Peak and easy to grab a cab for downtown Deadwood.

Wonderful, affordable stay in the Black Hills. Close to Lead and Deadwood but still quiet and private.

We are locals, and we enjoyed the stayed. It was a beautiful peaceful place to just get away for the city. Secluded and perfect for a what we had planned for that weekend. Everything was clean and the beds were really comfortable.

Trailhound’s property is an unreal concept — three beautifully designed shipping containers tucked perfectly into the Black Hills. The space feels like a complete escape, yet you’re only a short drive from Terry Peak and super close to both Deadwood and Lead. The setting, the design, and the peaceful vibe all exceeded expectations. Truly one of the most unique and refreshing stays I’ve ever experienced. Can’t recommend it enough!

Great stay! Plenty of room for a group and great outdoor space for our dogs to run around. Also, had a personal issue when checking out and Tracy was so understanding and flexible with us! Would definitely stay again!!

Loved this place. Beautiful area, great quiet home. Fast WiFi and loved that there was a garage because it snowed! Saw deer walking through. Would definitely recommend it abs would stay here again.

My husband and I have stayed out in the Hills many many times, and this is my favorite cabin so far! It’s quiet and private, yet easy to get to. So close to Terry peak, the Mickelson trail, Spearfish Canyon—especially good for hiking! I also love that they allow furry friends to come along too. We had such a great stay.

Beautiful place, would definitely stay again

The Crate escape was very beautiful! Our favorite part was waking up in the morning and sitting out back on the spacious deck, having coffee and breakfast! We even saw deer walking on the back of the grounds! Tracy was very responsive to any questions I had and we would stay here again! We wish we would have had more time to enjoy the long list of amenity’s the home had to offer, especially the wood burning stove and sauna! Crate escape is a very unique property which was one of the reasons we chose it, you feel like you are miles in the hills but in reality you are a short drive to the things you like to do!
